Media Multitasking Good or Bad? Week-20
Are you a good at multitasking? Do you feel you can be efficient and stay focused on your task at hand while answering text messages, sending emails, and jamming to your favorite tunes in the background? Well, Stanford University has shed some light on the myth of being an efficient multitasker.
In a study conducted in 2009 the Stanford researchers concluded “people who are regularly bombarded with several streams of electronic information do not pay attention, control their memory or switch from one job to another as well as those who prefer to complete one task at a time”. In other words….by doing less, you might accomplish more.

I’m reminded of the great Charles Haanel. In Part 12 of the Master Key System he writes…..“The time and thought which most people waste in aimless effort would accomplish wonders if properly directed with some special object in view. In order to do this, it is necessary to center your mental force upon a specific thought and hold it there, to the exclusion of all other thoughts.” Haanal wrote this over 100 years ago and the statement still rings true today!
