Have A Little Faith – Week 11
From the Bible – Faith – The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
From the dictonary -Faith – Something that is believed especially with strong conviction.
Henry Ford went bankrupt multiple times before having tremendous success with his creation of Ford Motor Company. Ford said, “If you think you can, or you think you can’t, either way, you are right”. Henry Ford believed especially with strong conviction that he would succeed. Had Ford not had tremendous faith in himself and his team in creating his Model T, Ford Motor Co. may not have ever existed.
I had little faith in myself up until recently. My faith is growing slowly but surely. Let me share with you some things that have triggered a spark in this brain of mine.
Charles Haanal quotes Mark 11:24, from the Bible, in his book The Master Key System – “Therefore I say to you, what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them”.
You must have a goal in mind, or something you want. Everything that has ever been created started with a thought. So, every night I sit still and quiet my mind and think of what my heart desires and I picture myself taking possession.
You absolutely must greet everyday with a positive mental attitude. I have removed words from my vocabulary such as quit, cannot, unable, impossible, out of the question, improbable, failure, unworkable, hopeless, and retreat as Og Mandino suggests in the book “The Greatest Salesman in the World”. Og says “for they are the words of fools”.
I’ve created a written plan of action as a “how to” achieve what it is that I want. This includes the details on how I am going to achieve my goal, how it would make me feel to achieve my goal, and a date as to when it will be achieved by.
You must be persistent. I’ve observed that every successful person in business invests all of their mind, all of their time and every fiber of their being into fulfilling their dream. They pour their blood, sweat, and tears into it. They ignore the obstacles they encounter. They pour their heart and soul into whatever it is they are pursuing. They are obsessed with their goals and dreams. Successful people persist until they succeed.
Lastly, create a mastermind group. Napoleon Hill defines a mastermind in his book “Think and Grow Rich” as “the coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony”.
Baby steps, slowly but surely, everyday I will persist until I succeed!
I would love to hear what you thought of this blog so please feel free to leave a comment below.
